For co-founders and partners, Marie Peinert and Raphael Reuben, challenging the status quo has become their new normal.
In November 2020, they learned that Marie suffered from an autoimmune thyroid condition. Like most, they were discouraged when they sought help from traditional healthcare channels. They were met with long wait times (two and half years till diagnosis), resistance to Marie’s self-reporting, a siloed, reactive approach, and solutions singularly focused on symptom reduction via medication in lieu of preventative, sustainable, whole-body lifestyle interventions.
As Marie and Raphael dug deeper into autoimmunity, they found they were not alone in their struggle for forward-thinking care.
